Ron Hill meets the Queen

Ron met the Queen as part of her tour of the North West. Ron was asked to invite the Queen to unveil the Accrington Coat of Arms in the £2m refurbished Market Hall in the town. Hyndburn Borough Council and the Government’s Local Enterprise Growth Initiative funded the refurbishment of the Victorian hall.

The nice surprise of the day was a very large billboard sized picture placed at the front of the Market Hall depicting images from Ron’s achievements. Ron felt a very proud man and quite humbled by his day back in his hometown. Ron later appeared on BBC News to talk through his day with royalty.
